Kent

Click the map for tourism ideas Kent, known as the Garden of England hosts the North Downs, a range of chalk hills, which terminate on the Straits of Dover in the famous White Cliffs. To the south is the fertile lowland area known as the Weald, where pretty villages are tucked away. The cone-shaped roofs of the traditional oast houses, where the hops were dried, are characteristic of the countryside and some windmills also survive. The history of Canterbury dates back some 2,000 years and its magnificent cathedral is one of the country's outstanding sights.

Woodcock Lane, Iden Green, Kent TN17 4HT. Tel: 01580 240009
Not quite in the centre of Iden Green (and it's not a big centre) makes the Woodcock a little struggle to find, but well worth it. Surrounded by 'Moor Wood' with a car park on the opposite side of the lane, the Woodcock will appear to be full and that's because it is a small place with very low well worn beams. The woodcock does though, ooze quality. With fine food, excellent ales and a good wine list, you can't go wrong, even the ice bucket & spoon are made from silver. Friendly service and comfortable seating around a hop covered inglenook only add to the atmosphere.
