Northamptonshire

Click the map for tourism ideas Northamptonshire, essentially an agricultural county, has an undulating terrain on which livestock raising predominates. The principal town of Northampton has a long history of shoemaking. Thatch and stone were used in the construction of local villages, and medieval towns like Oundle are worth visiting. The abundance of parish churches and stately country homes, such as Althorp House and Deene Park, has contributed to Northamptonshire's reputation as the county of 'spires and squires'.
