A converted barge afloat on the River Trent, a short walk from Newark Castle, the Castle Barge serves good ales even though it doesn't have a cellar ! There is a function room on the main deck but down below is a cosy bar where you can get good value for money meals. |

Believed by some to be the oldest pub in Britain. Dating back to 1189 with parts of the foundations dating back to 1070, some of the rooms are cut out of the cliffs below Nottingham Castle.
