	If you're looking for an inn close to water then they don't come any closer than the Castle Barge. A converted barge afloat on the River Trent, a short walk from Newark Castle, the Castle Barge serves good ales even though it doesn't have a cellar ! There is a function room on the main deck but down below is a cosy bar where you can get good value for money meals.

	Fellows Morton & Clayton were one of the biggest and best-known canal carrying companies in the commercial heyday of the canals. The pub takes its name from an old, well-known canal haulage company which previously occupied this site. the building dates from 1895 - but did not become a pub until December 1981

Dating back to 1770 and formerly known as the Swan and Salmon, Kelly's Tavern has many references to the Isle of Man and has been refurbished, opening up the central bar area to first floor level, creating a very pleasant environment to compliment the excellently well kept cask ales.

	Believed by some to be the oldest pub in Britain. Dating back to 1189 with parts of the foundations dating back to 1070, some of the rooms are cut out of the cliffs below Nottingham Castle. Crusaders stopped at 'The Trip' on their way to the Holy Land. Full of charm, character and tradition. A gem !
