OK, so it's not a real pub but... When Countryfile host a live show at wonderful Blenheim Palace and erect a temporary pub, call it the Craven Arms and you know John Craven - what's not to like? We'd also recommend many of the pubs and restaurants in Woodstock as well as Blenheim Palace itself. Well it was the birthplace of Winston Churchill and lanscaped by Capability Brown - England at it's best! |

Wonderful and extremely homely 16th century coaching inn with spectacular Tudor arch fireplace. We might be a bit biased about the Lamb as we visited on the way home, the day after we watched Fat Badger Kilo's favourite team win 5-0 in an FA Cup semi final at Wembley so we were already in a really good mood. |

Amazing 15th Century thatched inn serving excellent food, ales and wines but don't be caught with your mobile phone switched on or with any kids or dogs, as they'll all be thrown out ! If you're looking to spend some time in a good old Gentleman's club in a comfortable and civilised atmosphere with inglenook fireplaces then the Mason Arms is perfect. Peacocks and ducks are allowed, although they may find themselves on the menu ! Formally called 'Gerry Stonhill's Individual Masons Arms', this inn serves wonderful food, has a plethora of wines to choose from and an amazing collection of vintage armagnacs and a single cask of beer in the cellar. The Mason's is well worth a visit. |
