Several major iron- and steel-producing centres are located on the banks of the river Historically, coal mining has been an important activity in much of the county, and agriculture, notably dairy farming, continues in the east. The city of Sheffield lies on the eastern edge of the Peak District National Park.Click Here For a List of Links to Inns with Websites
